Chef's Amy and Brenda at J.S. Jenks for "Back to School Picnic...

Brenda, a tea expert, and students
at J.S. Jenks helped to prepare a delicious snack for picnickers at
the school's "Back to School Picnic". The chefs and children
picked tomatoes, peppers, basil and eggplant from the school garden
that was planted last May as part of the school's science
curriculum. Chef Amy prepared a delicious chicken and vegetable soup
with Jenk's garden tomatoes, eggplant, peppers and herbs. Chef Brenda
prepared a pepper and yogurt topping on toasts. The children helped wash
and prepare the veggies for about 30 families at Jenks. The food was delicious and everyone went home with a full
belly and a better understanding of where our food actually comes
from!
